Duh

I recently went back to wearing contact lenses. I was sick of wearing glasses and, short of getting lasik surgery, contacts were my only choice.

The clock radio blares music too early and I make myself roll out of bed and stumble to the kitchen and put water on for coffee. The shower doesn't do much to wake me up. I've got to start getting to bed earlier. I have to hustle to make the van which leaves at 6:40 sharp. I brush my toofers, dress, and pop my contacts in. I pour coffee in the go cup and run out to my truck.

On my way to the parking lot, everything's a blur. I think I must have put my contacts in the wrong eyes. Sitting in my truck I reach up to tweak my contacts and I discover, by force of habit, I had put on my glasses. I take them off and everything becomes crystal clear.
Duh.

  1. ahahaha!! That is funny bb, just what I would do!
Bet when you wore glasses only you would be hunting for them only to discover them on the top of your head or on your face, LOL....another one of my tricks.
have a lovely day my friend.

  2. Wow, that's a funny little slice of life. 6:40 is EARLY man!

I am sick of wearing glasses, mostly because I take them off if we're within 18 inches of eachother, where I can see just fine and it feels funny to have distance glasses on.

But I can't put the F*&#ers in. Takes me 10 mnutes to get one and the other won't go in. In the last year and a half I've been successful three times, and within four hours, my eyes felt like I do when I;m bone tired... as if there is velcro on the lids. I know that should get to be a longer period with extended wear but if I can't get them in, how can I get used to them.

They say that the bifocal ones I have are SO thin, that it's a worse problem. But using just distance ones makes it impossible to see 90% of what I look at in the day. Any tricks up your sleeve you want to pass along?

  3. I used to wear the bifocals but they left something to be desired when reading. I went to mono-vision; left eye for distance and right eye for close up. Works perfect for me. They're the Oasis kind so they're good for dry eyes and astigmatism, which I have a touch of.
