Guilty Pleasure

The Carpenters had a huge hit on their debut album in 1970 called "Close To You". Until today, I didn't know that Burt Bacharach wrote the song. The little trumpet solo makes it even more obvious. I don't know how the guy playing the clarinet got a trumpet sound out of it. I loved this song back in the day. I still do.

  2. OMG, I've always loved this song, too! My folks played tons of Bacharach when I was growing up so I've got a soft spot for all those tunes.

Thanks for sharing the video - awesome.

    Take care and happy holidays!

  5. I love that song. I haven't thought of it in many years. I was still able to sing along, much to Jessica's dismay.
